I read Octavia Butler’s Parable of the Sower earlier this year with a queer book club, and since then the central tenet of Earthseed has stayed with me.

“The destiny of Earthseed is to take root among the stars.”

These prints were pulled in the summer as my mind kept looking for hope; for something to look forward to as my faith in humanity cratered. This central tenet of Earthseed stood in front of me like a mighty oak and asked me to make work about it.
